Cuba – December 2024

Learn about Cuba’s unique marine environment during an Oceans for Youth Foundation People-to-People educational program. Citizens of the U.S. will fly into Havana where they will spend a full day meeting with scientists about Cuba’s marine parks. After two nights in Havana, transportation is provided to the southern town of Jucaro, where the Jardines Aggressor live aboard docks. Guests will depart for six days of scuba diving in the Gardens of the Queen (Jardines de la Reina) National Park, one of the oldest marine national parks in the world, located 60 miles off the southern coast. Biologists will host discussions and presentations covering many topics including: proper mooring procedures and installations, fish tagging, commercial fishing and other local environmental issues. Join Faith Ortins from Blue Green Expeditions and other polar diving specialists and photographers on an amazing expedition to Antarctica! We arrive February 5th in Ushuaia, Argentina for an overnight stay as well as a day tour of Tierra Del Fuego National Park before embarking on our journey aboard the majestic m/v Plancius to Antarctica. We will sail through the Drake Passage tracing the path of the early polar explorers who first braved these regions. Along the way, we will see Humpback and Minke whales breaching in the sea as well as albatrosses and many other birds that will accompany us on our journey. We will tour glaciers and icebergs on zodiac cruises exploring areas few people have ever seen before. Amongst the epic landscape of mammoth glaciers and wind carved snow live colonies of thousands of penguins nesting on these islands. Divers will experience the opportunity to swim with penguins and leopard seals as well as seeing the unique invertebrate life of Antarctica.

Join Faith Ortins from Blue Green Expeditions for a women’s only dive trip to Indonesia! We will be headed off the beaten path to the beautiful Kalimaya Dive Resort. The resort is tucked away on its own private bay in the heart of some of the best diving in Indonesia. Located in East Sunbawa, it is an easy flight from Bali to this little slice of heaven! The diving here is spectacular and there are three distinct types of diving, muck, current and coral. The house reef has amazing muck diving. If you have never experienced muck diving before, you are in for a treat! The sandy ocean bottom is filled with weird and wonderful critters that are unique to this ecosystem. We can find frogfish, candy crabs, bobtail squid, numerous species of nudibranchs, wunderpus, and many other bizarre critters. We will also venture to the currents of West Komodo for the big pelagics! Here we can see Black-tip, White-tip and Grey reef sharks, manta rays, eagle rays, and schooling tuna and jack fish! Then to the coral reefs. Some of the healthiest coral reefs in the world are nearby. There are walls, pinnacles and caverns to explore. Beautiful reef fish and turtles can be found amongst the gorgeous coral gardens. Topside we will visit Komodo island. The Komodo dragon is the worlds largest lizard and is found on Komodo Island. These lizards can grow as long as 10 feet and are a sight to behold! Let’s not forget we are going on an amazing tropical dive vacation for a good cause! All proceeds from this trip will benefit the Women’s Divers Hall of Fame Scholarship and Internship Fund as well as Dive for a Cure! Come join a great bunch of women and let's go diving!

Diving God’s Pocket is pristine, remote diving with some of the most amazing scenery in the world. Here we will get to see giant pacific octopus, nudibranchs, wolf eels, rockfish, anemones, shrimp and all sorts of underwater marine life. This is one amazing trip that you don’t want to miss!

These remote islands off the coast of Ecuador are nature’s evolutionary laboratory and perfectly situated between the ocean currents to create a diverse ecosystem unlike any other. The archipelago contains more distinct species of flora and fauna than any other place on earth! Our longer and custom itinerary gives us the time to explore more remote islands looking for unique animal behaviors and interactions. While this is not prime whale shark season, there are plenty of shark opportunities with hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, and white tips as well as seals, mola molas and many other big animals.
