Cuba – 2022

Learn about Cuba’s unique marine environment during an Oceans for Youth Foundation People-to-People educational program. Citizens of the U.S. will fly into Havana where they will spend a full day meeting with scientists about Cuba’s marine parks. After two nights in Havana, transportation is provided to the southern town of Jucaro, where the Jardines Aggressor II liveaboard docks. Guests will depart for six days of scuba diving in the Gardens of the Queen (Jardines de la Reina) National Park, one of the oldest marine national parks in the world, located 60 miles off the southern coast. Biologists will host discussions and presentations covering many topics including: proper mooring procedures and installations, fish tagging, commercial fishing and other local environmental issues. The archipelago contains more distinct species of flora and fauna than any other place on earth! Our longer and custom itinerary gives us the time to explore more remote islands looking for unique animal behaviors and interactions. While this is not prime whale shark season, there are plenty of shark opportunities with hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, and white tips as well as seals, mola molas and many other big animals. Galapagos Land Tour – 2022

Join Blue Green Expeditions for an exciting land excursion on the Galapagos Islands right after we dive them!! The Aqua has a special permit to do both diving and land excursions in Galapagos. Those who book the optional land tour with us will be able to stay on the boat following the diving portion and continue the land excursions for another 4 nights/5 days. This makes the logistics super easy and ensures your land tours will be with a nice small group. The Galapagos Islands are one of the most unique islands in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The unique volcanic islands host a plethora of wildlife and fauna and were the inspiration for Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution. The animals on the Galapagos Islands are incredibly tame thanks to a lack of natural predators. You can expect to get up close and personal to many different species of animals and birds such as giant tortoises, sea lions, blue footed boobies, marine iguanas and many others. Antarctica – Weddell Sea – Trip 1

Join Faith Ortins, from Blue Green Expeditions, and other polar diving specialists, on an amazing expedition to Antarctica! This time we are headed to the Weddell Sea! You can hardly get a better experience of Antarctica than a voyage to the great Weddell Sea. Be prepared to see massive tabular icebergs, wildly dramatic landscapes, and fascinating historical sites. Our journey will take place on the 200th anniversary of the discovery of the Weddell Sea! We are going to be doing the first recreational diving expedition into the inner part of Weddell Sea. Most of the diving will be in places no one has ever been before! As a special treat, Becky Schott from Liquid Productions will be onboard and will be teaching image making workshops.

Tubbataha is located in the Sulu Sea at the center of the Coral Triangle. It is a UNESCO world heritage site and a marine preserve. Tubbataha is made up of two reefs which enclose a sandy lagoon frequented by nesting turtles. At Tubbataha, vertical walls and dramatic drop offs provide for the Philippines best big fish diving! You can expect to see large Napoleon Wrasse, Bumphead Parrotfish, Massive schools of fish, White Tip and Grey reef sharks and the occasional Manta, Hammerhead, Tiger or Whale Shark! That is just the tip of the iceberg! There is so many species to see from pygmy seahorses, numerous species of nudibranchs, turtles, and some of the most pristine corals in the world! Shetland Islands and Basking Sharks – 2023

Join Blue Green Expeditions as we combine two epic experiences into one amazing package! Come join us onboard the m/v Valhalla on a rebreather friendly liveaboard diving the Shetland Islands followed by three days snorkeling with one of the largest sharks in the world, Basking Sharks! The Shetland Islands are a wreck divers dream. Life on the wrecks is stunning with loads of fish, anemones, and nudibranches and the average visibility can range from 10m - 25m which is pretty amazing in these cool green waters! The wrecks are remarkably untouched and vary in depths for recreational and technical dives. The Shetlands have everything from historic wrecks to modern trawlers. Cetaceans are common here and we will often be joined by minkes, orcas, porpoises and dolphins on our journey! We will then travel to Oban for our next adventure with the basking sharks. This is one of the biggest hotspots in the world to see them! Basking sharks typically range from 20 - 26 feet long but no worries, they eat plankton and are harmless!
