CROATIA with Vranjak and Trogir Diving Center                                         September 12-23, 2020

This is a unique land and sea adventure combining the incredible history and scenery of Croatia with amazing diving. We will spend 7 days on a liveaboard cruising along the Croatian coastline and focusing on the Kornati National Park and the Island of Vis which is known for its incredible wrecks and great visibility. Trogir Diving Center will be our hosts for the last 4 nights as we do some additional land based diving as well as tour local historic sites and national parks. Blue Green Expeditions is headed on an adventure truly out of the ordinary! We will be snorkeling with Orcas in the Fjords of Norway. Due to the wintry conditions of Northern Norway, this is a trip for the true adventurer. Large amounts of herring gather in these northern waters and with the herring, brings the hunters. It is an extraordinary spectacle to watch hundreds of Orcas in the sea and then be among the few explorers to experience snorkeling with them. Humpback whales, fin whales and minkes are commonly seen in these waters too. Orcas do not tolerate open circuit scuba so we will only be snorkeling with them.  While we cannot dive with the cetaceans, we will explore diving possibilities in the fjords so bring your dive gear. In the evenings, we will be delighted by the beauty of the northern lights. This is one unique adventure you will want to join us for!

GALAPAGOS ISLANDS: Darwin’s Playground                                               December 14-24, 2020

These remote islands off Ecuador are nature’s evolutionary laboratory and perfectly situated between the ocean currents to create a diverse ecosystem unlike any other. Going for 10 days and in December gives us the time to explore more remote islands looking for unique animal behaviors and interactions. While this is not prime whale shark season, there are plenty of shark opportunities with hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, and white tips as well as seals, mola molas and many other big animals.

Join us on an educational diving-oriented adventure to the Antarctic Peninsula. Dive, snorkel and cruise around massive icebergs, hang out with penguins and leopard seals, and explore pristine polar landscapes. OMAN AGGRESSOR                                                                                                 April 17-May 1, 2021

Oman offers pristine reefs, stunning deserts, rugged mountain landscapes, green oases, endless beaches and friendly people. The Arabian Sea and Gulf of Oman provide large coral reefs in the deep fjords of Musandam (Gulf of Oman), at Daymaniyat Islands off the coast of Muscat and Hallaniyat Islands off the coast of Mirbat in southern Oman (Arabian Sea) as well as untouched and recently discovered reefs and wrecks. Fishiest place we have ever seen! Includes 3 full days exploring Oman from land as well and a unique custom itinerary!

SUDAN: DEEP SOUTH RED SEA                                                                                        May 7-17, 2021

Explore the untapped part of the Red Sea with us for 10 days of diving onboard the majestic Tala. The deep south of the Sudan offers spectacular reefs, vibrant marine life and plenty of sharks! We will dive the southernmost reefs in the Sudanese Red Sea such as Sanganeb, Shab Ambar and Dahrat Abid which offer bountiful marine life, beautiful corals and numerous sharks such as white tip, silver tip and hammerheads. Our route will then head north to explore reefs such as Shaab Rumi and the famous Cousteau habitat, Precontinent II. It is surrounded by deep walls where we can expect to see tuna, barracuda, batfish and of course, more sharks!  We will also get to explore the Umbria wreck which was sunk during WW II and is almost entirely intact.

EXPLORING RUSSIA AND LAKE BAIKAL                            May 22-June 5 / May 29-June 12, 2021

This adventure includes liveaboard diving on Lake Baikal, deepest lake in the world. We hope to explore its unique topography and aquatic life especially the Baikal seal- only freshwater seal in the world. In addition to the diving in its crystal-clear waters, we will see life in Siberia first hand as we will spend most afternoons exploring the small towns and pristine landscape around the lake. In addition to the week on the boat, we will also have 2 days in Moscow and 4 days in St. Petersburg to explore the incredible history of Russia. Each trip is limited to 8 people so book now.

Greece has only recently been opened to divers so join us on a unique vacation among the historic and scenic Greek Islands. We will journey aboard specially equipped catamarans designed for small groups who want to explore at a leisurely pace. EASTERN INDONESIA Aboard the PINDITO                                                          August 9-20, 2021

The archipelago of Alor includes 6 islands with Pantar and Alor being the biggest ones. There are more than 60 impressive and mostly untouched dive sites around Alor. Most lie in the nutrient-rich Pantar Straits between Alor and Pantar. The Pindito has been diving this area for a few years now. During your dives along this exciting new route you can expect to see incredible underwater biodiversity. In addition, nutrient rich upwelling waters bring in pelagics: Sunfish (mola-mola), thresher sharks, hammerhead sharks, humpback whales, and even marlin and sailfish. Further, the many protected pristine reefs provide a perfect home for smaller colorful creatures and up to 1,000 species of coral reef fishes and 500 species of corals. Walls, bommies, caves and patch reef formations make for dramatic 3D underwater topography while black sand areas provide perfect habitat for muck diving and cryptic critters.

This unique expedition highlights the best of the Arctic. In Iceland, dive between two continental plates in the gin clear waters of Silfra, explore geothermal lakes and rivers, and dive hydrothermal vents all while enjoying amazing top side scenery, fantastic food and the unique Icelandic culture. After boarding the ship to Greenland, we will enjoy whale watching and aurora borealis from the ship as we approach Greenland. There we will explore virgin dive sites as well as enjoy spectacular top side scenery including the largest icebergs in the world and traditional villages where people still survive on seals, musk oxen and polar bear. MALPELO ABOARD THE M/V FEROX                                                                 December 1-11, 2021

Malpelo is a remote volcanic island located over 300 miles off the coast of Columbia. It is the largest no fishing zone in the Eastern Tropical Pacific and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The deep water and various ocean currents make this the perfect place for an extraordinary shark population. It is widely acclaimed as one of the top diving sites in the world due to the large aggregates of sharks and pelagic species.  Due to the strong ocean currents, this is a destination for experienced divers and all divers must have an Advanced Open Water certification, Nitrox certification and at least 50 logged dives. Massive schools of hammerhead and silky sharks are found here along with Galapagos, white tip, whale sharks, manta and eagle rays, free-swimming moray eels, as well as the reclusive small tooth sand tiger. HELEN’S REEF: DEEP SOUTH PALAU                                                        January 21-February 1, 2022

Most trips only take you to the well-travelled part of this amazing island nation, but we will explore virgin territory in the deep southern part of Palau- Helen’s Reef. You can expect pristine reefs, lots of pelagics and plenty of peace and quiet with few other boats in the area. We are timing this for the general time of the bumphead parrotfish mating season so this could also be a highlight. Once again, we take you off the beaten path aboard the modern and extremely comfortable Solitude!

SOUTH AFRICA OCEAN SAFARI                                                                               February 6-18, 2022

This adventure is a true smorgasbord of South Africa. We will be based out of Port Elizabeth and our diving will focus on finding baitballs and other pelagics – hopefully, free diving and scuba diving on them. However, there is so much more the area has to offer including colorful reef dives with ragged tooth (sand tigers) and cat sharks, seals and rays. Combined with 2 days of guided land safaris in Addo National Park (Big5) and Kragga Kamma Game Park, you will experience the some of the best animal encounters South Africa has to offer.

BIKINI ATOLL: The Mount Everest of Wreck Diving                                      April 28-May 11, 2022

Here rests ships from WW II that were sunk during the atomic bomb tests at Bikini Atoll. These shipwrecks will astound you with their historical significance, the time capsule the represent and the incredible resiliency of the ocean they demonstrate. Be the first to experience this new transition trip in Indonesia with muck diving, coral reefs and Big Fish! We will be on board the luxurious Raja Ampat Aggressor cruising from one beautiful location to the next! Derawan Islands are an archipelago that forms small, remote atolls with sandy banks in the northern part of Indonesia. Considered to be the second most biodiverse place in the world, the islands are part of the coral triangle and abound with hundreds of species of reef fish, coral and invertebrates including many giant clams, sharks, schooling barracuda, mantas, sea turtles and the coconut crab. Diving features abundant life as well as huge variety of habitats from coral reefs, walls, caves and lagoons including a jellyfish lake.

SPITSBERGEN AND KVITOYA: Arctic Exploration!                                           August 20-29, 2020

This will be a unique adventure for divers and non-divers alike. Above water, enjoy the unique Arctic landscape and incredible wildlife such as polar bears, walruses, whales and birds. For divers, we will experience an amazing variety of marine invertebrates, dive with the penguins of the Arctic (guillemots) and explore Kvitoya- a place no one has ever dove before! Kvitoya is a very remote part of the Svalbard archipelago rarely explored though known for its polar bear population. Underwater, who knows…we will have to find out for ourselves! Add on available for diving the shipwrecks in Bergen, Norway from August 15-20.

GALAPAGOS: An adventure above and below the water!                          December 5-16, 2022

Our longer and custom itinerary gives us the time to explore more remote islands looking for unique animal behaviors and interactions. We are excited to partner with the Aqua which enables us to create this special combo of 9 days diving with optional 5 day land package after the diving. While this is not prime whale shark season, there are plenty of shark opportunities with hammerheads, Galapagos sharks, and white tips as well as seals, mola molas and many other big animals. Combined with the special permits that allow us more time to explore the unique terrestrial ecosystem, this is one not to be missed!
