Lyndy Burnham
Expedition Lead
Lyndy knew he wanted to spend his life outdoors before his teens! Hiking and camping in the White Mountains of New England, he had climbed all of the mountains over 4,000’ before he was in High School and was sailing on lakes in Massachusetts and Maine and around Cape Cod and Nantucket Island. Lyndy became a certified diver through PADI while in college studying coastal geology and oceanography. Lyndy obtained his Divemaster and Assistant Instructor ratings while attending graduate school at Boston University. Lured by opportunities in diving, he ended up at PADI International College in Santa Ana CA where he was trained as an Open Water Scuba Instructor and was certified in over 20 different specialties. He worked in dive retail and as an Instructor at New England Divers (Beverly MA) and Northeast Scuba (Danvers MA) for about 10 years before starting his own business, Professional Diving Education out of his home in the Seacoast area of New Hampshire.
A PADI Master Instructor, Medic First Aid Instructor Trainer, Course Director and Specialty Instructor, Lyndy traveled to stores around the country, and internationally, consulting and doing PADI Instructor Development Courses. He left active dive training when he started a family but has continued to travel and dive around the world with his wife Deb and 2 grown children Erik and Mahreana. Lyndy joined Paul Holbrook and Faith Ortins on several expeditions including Mt. Everest Base Camp in Nepal, Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa, as well as dive trips to Greece and Iceland. He lives outside Boston MA.
